Objective: To observe the relevance of blood plasma homocystein level and cerebral infarction. Methods: 84 patients with cerebral infarction were selected as the observation group, who were treated in our hospital from October 2009 to October 2010.Patients were divided into initial attack group and recurrent group. We chose 52 patients with normal physical examination as a control group.Plasma homocysteine levels were detected and compared between groups. Results: The patients’ plasma concentration of homocysteine was(29.35±3.39) μmol/L in observation group, while it was(12.15±1.66) μmol/L in control group. The difference was statistically significant(t=5.705,P〈0.05) between the two groups. And between initial and recurrent group, the difference of concentration of also was statistically significant(t=-3.751,P〈0.05).In addition, the percentage of patients in initial group and recurrent group were significant differences among the four plasma homocysteine level.Compared with those in initial group, patients in the recurrent group were significantly more in moderate and severe plasma homocysteine levels(81.9%∶45.0%).Conclusion: High homocysteine relate to cerebral infarction, and the higher the level, the greater the risk of recurrence
