摘  要:清末民初上海"新舞台"是中国近代史上第一座初具现代化规模的剧场,标志着中国现代戏剧舞台史的一次重要革命。它在物质形式和管理机制上的异域化趋向激发了新的舞台表现内容和戏剧观念,展示出改良戏曲和早期话剧之间的联系。但是,由于忽视中西文化差异,对传统文化的变通又采取了实用主义立场,新舞台向戏剧专业化的进一步探索未能走远。可以说,它是现代戏剧发展史的一个脚注,凸显了中国现代戏剧对文化异质因素和本土因素的选择磨合。The Shanghai New Stage was the first modernized theatre in China, marking a revolutionary step toward modernization in Chinese theatre. It showed pronounced foreign influences in both architectural form and organizational mechanism, which gave rise to stage and conceptual innovations, revealing the connection between the reform in traditional Chinese operas and the early "spoken" drama in China. However, its overlooking the cultural differences and its utilitarian stance in the reform of traditional culture blocked its way toward professional theatre. The New Stage may serve as a footnote of the modernization of Chinese theatre, highlighting the interface of alien and indigenous cultural factors in the process.
