ON INSECTS FROM UPPER TRIASSIC XIAOPING FORMATION, GUANGZHOU, CHINA

摘　　要：一、前言本文记述的3种化石昆虫采自广州市西北石井崩岗上三叠统小坪组含煤岩层,2种为(虫非)蠊盖翅:Triassoblatta tegmina sp.nov.,Triassoblatta opistodictyna sp.nov,属中生(虫非)蠊科三叠(虫非)蠊属;另一种为鞘翅目的鞘翅Shijingocoleus margacrispus gen.et sp.nov.,属裂鞘甲科的新属、新种。前二种(虫非)蠊类于粤中乃首次报道;后一种裂鞘甲不仅是我国的首次发现,也是世界上中生代地层中的首次发现,此科以往的地史记录是晚石炭世一晚二叠世,小坪组发现的这个科证明它存在时间可延续至晚三叠世。Three species of insect fossils from the Xiaoping Formation are described and illustrated here. Shijingoaoleus featuring a flattened elytron with several longitudinal and transverse rugulae and dense puncta, is classified as a new genus of the family Schizocoleidae. The finding in the Xiao ping Formation of Upper Triassic is more important, because the family was previously known only in the Paleozoic and is now the first one of its kind discovered from the Mesozoic. The other two species from the same bed belong to the genus Triassoblatta. The Xiaoping Formation containing the insect fauna is composed of a serie of sandstone and mudstone intercalated with coal, which has been assigned to the Upper Triassic. The insect beds lie at the top of the formation, with the new genus and new species, described as follows: Triassoblatta opistodictyna sp. nov. (P1. Ⅰ, fig. i; Text-fig. 1) An incomplete tegmen in dark colour, rather narrow and elongate, with tegmenal surface flattened. Length of tegmen about 14mm, preserved width 4.5mm (in complete tegmen probably about 6mm). Venation of tegmen as shown in text-fig. 1. The new. species is allied to T. simplex Rick, 1976 from South Africa but differs from the latter in the straight Sc, and a transverse ruagula crossing the base of humeral area, with reticular crossveins filled between A_1 and A_2. Horizon and Locality: Upper Triassic Xiaoping Formation; Benggang Village, Guangzhou, Guangdong. Triassoblatta tegmina sp. nov. (P1. Ⅰ, figs. 2—5; Text-fig, 2) Imago with head, pronotum, and-two tegmens; three pairs of legs missing. Body 24mm in length and 11mm in width (in middle); tegmen 20mm, in length and 6mm in width. Fedtures of imago as shown in text-fig. 2. The new species is characterized by: 1. Sc with more than 8 short branches; a. Cu_A with few branches, forming S-shaped bends; and. 3. anal veins thin and dense. Horizon and Locality: same as that of the preceding species. Shijingocoleus gen. nov.
