摘 要:长期以来,学者们认为隐转喻名名复合词因缺少语义透明度而缺乏语义可析性。本文以Langacker提出的参照点理论为基础,将隐喻看作参照点现象,通过分析这类复合词涉及的隐喻和转喻类型,找出理解这类复合词遵循的认知规律,由此论证其语义的部分可析性。本文还提出理解汉英隐转喻名名复合词的两种参照活动模式——链式和阶梯式参照活动模式。该研究还表明,理解这类复合词的过程就是以N1和N2为出发点,激活与之相关的百科知识集,以臆喻和转喻为途径,建立概念之间的参照关系,从而实现N1和N2的关系匹配以及N1、N2的意义和语境的匹配。Metaphtonymic noun-noun compounds have long been regarded as unanalyzable for lack of semantic transparency. On the basis of Langacker's Reference Point Theory, this paper claims that metaphor may be regarded as a reference point phe- nomenon. After classifying and analyzing the types of metaphors and metonymies in metaphtonymic noun-noun compounds, we have found the cognitive regularities of interpreting these com- pounds and proved their partial analyzability. The interpretations of metaphtonymic noun-noun compounds in Chinese and Eng- lish involve two kinds of reference point models, that is, the chain-like and the step-by-step reference model. Also, the process of interpreting these compounds is that of establishing the association between N1 and N2, and that between meaning and context by means of conceptual metaphor, and conceptual metonymy with reference to the encyclopedic knowledge activa- ted by N1 and N2.
