Aim To observe the effects of heat acclimatization on gastrointestinal hormone and cellular immune function of the marine training personnel. Methods There 125 marine training personnel in southeast area in Summer were randomly divided into 2 groups:the heat acclimatization group(60) and the control group(65).The levels of plasma motilin(MTL),vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) and somatostatin(SS) of the personnel in the two groups determined by radioimmunoassay two months before and after marine training. The percentage of T,B and NK cell subpopulation were assessed by flow cytomtry. Results There was not significant difference in levels of MTL,VIP and SS before and after marine training(P0.05).While the level of MTL in the control group was significantly increased and the levels of VIP and SS were significantly decreased after marine training as compared to that before training(P0.05).Compared with control group, the levels of CD3+,CD3+CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ in the heat acclimatization group increased significantly(P0.05) and that of CD3+CD8+,CD3-CD56+ decreased significantly(P0.05).Conclusion Suitable heat acclimatization can enhance function of gastrointestinal system and cellular immune in the marine training personnel.
