论常州地域文化中的水文化特质

摘　　要：江苏常州位于太湖流域,吴文化的中心地带。常州地域文化中,处处体现出水文化的特质。首先表现在衣食住行等物质文化层;其次,常州文人与水关系密切。以白云溪为例,这条不足一公里的小溪,聚集了许多名士;其三,在心态文化层中,常州文化也充分体现了水文化的特质。水"善下"、"不争",象征着谦逊的特性,水还有融通、诚信等特点,这些特性在常州地域文化中得到了很好的传承,清代常州学派、阳湖文派、毗陵诗派等,都体现了这些特点。如今,常州文化中的"水性"依然润泽着常州人。Changzhou,a city in Jiangsu province,lies in Taihu region,which is the central part of Wu culture.The local culture of Changzhou is a typical reflction of water culture in several aspects.Firstly,it is indicated in the material level like food,clothing and housing etc.Secondly,scholars in Changzhou are losely related to water.A case in point is Baiyun Stream,which attracts many famous scholars though it is less than one kilometer in length.Finally,water culture is embodied in the states of mind of people in Changzhou,who are still nourished by the qualities of water at present.
