摘　　要：美国著名黑人作家詹姆斯.鲍德温反对自然主义抗议文学创作风格,主张通过其特色鲜明的黑人文化展现黑人的价值观、思维方式和行为习惯,最终使白人正确认识、理解并接受黑人。其短篇小说《索尼的布鲁斯》展现了以布鲁斯、爵士乐为代表的黑人音乐的巨大魅力:黑人音乐不仅是黑人民族伟大的精神遗产和生存希望,更是黑人民族寻找民族之根的重要指南。本文通过分析小说的故事情节、人物形象和思想主题再现布鲁斯的创作手法、音乐旋律、发展历史及其民族意义,旨在肯定鲍德温对20世纪美国黑人文学走出自然主义抗议文学窠臼,走向以黑人文化为基础的新型现代黑人文学做出的重要贡献。James Baldwin,one of the most famous Afro-American writer,opposes protesting theme in Afro-American literature and advocates that Afro-American writers are supposed to present their self-worth,attitude,tradition and customs by displaying their unique culture in their literary works.Only in this way can the Afro-American nation be understood and accepted by the white and can the harmony between two nations be achieved.His story Sonny’s Blues demonstrates the amazing power of black music represented by blues and jazz： black music has been not only the hope for the black nation to get survived but also the compass for them to find their own black identity.This paper intends to analyze its plots,characters and themes to present black music’s composing methods,rhythm and melody,historical and national significance and thus to highlight Baldwin’s significant contribution to Afro-American literature’s transformation from protesting against the white to presenting Afro-American culture.
