Objective To investigate the value of sympathetic skin response(SSR) in the clinical discrimination of mental urinary frequency. Methods SSR,filling cystonetry(FC),and FC-SSR of 15 healthy adults and 28 patients with urinary frequency were continually detected.SSR was observed when the micturinion desire occurred.Based on the SSR,the 28 patients were divided into 2 groups and the results of FDC/MCC from FC and FC-SSR were compared. Results SSR could be induced in all healthy adults. In the 28 patients,13 had SSR(SSR Group) and 15 no SSR(No SSR Group).Comparison of FDC/MCC showed there was no significant difference between the 2 groups of patients, but the values of these 2 groups were lower than that in the healthy adults(P0.01).The comparison of FDC/MCC by FC-SSR showed there was no significant difference between the SSR Group and the healthy adults, but the value was significantly lower in the SSR Group than in the controls and the No SSR Group(P0.01).Conclusions SSR is clinically valuable to the discrimination of mental urinary frequency.
