摘　　要：竺可桢是中国现代地理学、气象学的一代宗师,是中国科技界、教育界的一面旗帜,同时,也是中国科技史研究的开拓者、组织者和领导者。从20世纪初开始,竺可桢就大力倡导科技史研究,并身体力行,在气象学史、天文学史、地学史、科学文化史等方面取得了丰硕的研究成果,其中包括不少开创性的研究。新中国成立后,担任中国科学院副院长的竺可桢始终关注科技史,特别是中国科技史的研究。他支持成立了中国自然科学史委员会,并亲自筹划组建了自然科学史研究室,还积极推动中国科技史界参与国际交流,为中国科技史研究的组织化、系统化和国际化作出了重大贡献。竺可桢的生平、业绩和他的道德、人品,以及在多个领域的不朽贡献,业已构成为"竺可桢学",竺可桢也自然地成为中国科技史至重、至尊的研究对象。Zhu Kezhen,the forerunner of Chinese modern geography and meteorology,is considered as one of the most important representatives in the circles of science and technology as well as education.Moreover,he is also a pioneer,organizer and leader in the area of history of science and technology in China.Since the early 20th century,Zhu Kezhen had been endeavoring to promote the researches on the history of science and technology,and gained great achievements in the fields of history of meteorology,astronomy,geography,science and culture,many initiative ones included.When being the vice president of Chinese Academy of Science,Zhu Kezhen had been always concerned about the researches on the history of science and technology,especially the ones on the history of science and technology in China.He supported the establishment of Chinese Committee for Studying the History of Natural Science,and set up the Institute for the History of Natural Science.He had promoted the domestic participation in international exchange in this field and contributed a lot to the study of history of science and technology in China,leading it to be organized,systematic and international.In view of his life and achievements as well as his contributions to many fields,Zhu Kezhen-ology has come into being and he himself has become an important research object in the field of history of science and technology in modern China.
