摘　　要：百年来,湘西苗族在国家力量的导引下,开始了文化的现代性建构。其现代性文化的建构特征主要表现为:理性、科学对民间信仰的冲击;权利意识的强烈伸张;文化主体意识的增强;文化开放性的日益明显。湘西苗族文化现代性建构的百年历程表明,现代性文化是传统与现代的矛盾统一体,是传统与现代因素在一个文化体中相互激荡、相互交织、相互吸收、共同形塑的文化样式。In the past century and under the influence of the national strength,the Miao people in western Hunan Province have engaged in the construction of modernistic culture,whose major features find expression in several aspects as follows： the impacts of rationality and science on the folk beliefs;very strong appeal to rights,more awareness of cultural subject and more open to the outside world.This construction process shows that modernistic culture is a unity of opposites（tradition and modernization）,and a cultural style or body formed by the traditional and modern elements which are intertwined,infiltrated and absorbed
