Objective To investigate the relationships between Malondialdehyde(MDA)and lipid profiles and the severity of the condition in pre-eclampsia patients. Methods Sixty pregnant women with PE and 40 healthy women in their late pregnancy were enrolled and evaluate the changes of MDA levels and lipid profile in the serum of these subjects. Results Serum MDA levels in the study group(6.13±1.61 nmol/L) were significantly higher than those in the control group(4.42±0.88 nmol/L)(P0.05).Compared with those of the mild preeclampsia group(5.16±1.02 nmol/L),serum MDA levels of the severe preeclampsia group(7.11±1.52 nmol/L)were significantly higher(P0.05).Still,serum MDA levels in the mild preeclampsia group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.05).Serum TG and LDL-C levels in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.05).Serum HDL-C levels in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The abnormality of MDA levels and lipid profile of patients with pre-eclampsia are related to the pathogenesis and the severity of pre-eclampsia.
