自传中现在时的身份叙事向度——《富兰克林自传》的个案研究

摘　　要：作为一种回顾性叙事，自传文类唯一“合法”的叙事时态是过去时。然而，现在时及过去时在自传中被频繁地“违法”交替使用及其背后潜藏的深意远未引起学界足够的重视。本文旨在探讨自传叙事中的现在时，尤其是现在时与过去时转换之间所具有的身份叙事向度，并以《富兰克林自传》为例，探讨时态转换与富兰克林身份建构之间的必然联系。As a retrospective narrative form,autobiography features its only 'legal' narrative tense—the past tense.However,the embedded ideology of the autobiographer's frequent 'illegal' application of present tense and tense switching between the present and the past tense is largely neglected by some critics.The paper,taking The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin as a particular case,endeavors to explore the internal relationship between the intention of the autobiographer's identity pursuit and tense switching.
