摘　　要：This paper describes the results of a study of the use of verbs in the different sections of English medical research papers written by Chinese and Anglo-American authors. A corpus of 50-tagged texts was used. The verbs were classified according to their meaning in lexical domains. Results indicate that there are differences existing in the use of verbs in different sections of papers written by authors from different countries. The objective is to learn more about the lexical characteristics of medical English
