摘　　要：本文介绍我国已故的女性精神病学专家桂质良教授(1900-1956)。桂教授出身于书香门第,在上世纪20年代曾留学于美国卫斯理学院(Wellesley College)以及霍普金斯大学(Johns Hopkins University),之后回国从医执教,并出版了《现代精神病学》等专著。她可谓是我国精神科发展史上第一位女性精神病学专家、第一位儿童精神病学和心理卫生的专家、第一位个出版精神病专著的专家。This article describes the life and contributions of Zhi Liang GUI （ 1900 - 1956）, China＇s first female psychiatrist. Born into a scholarly family, she went to the United States as an international student in the 1920＇s. After completing her undergraduate studies at Wellesley College and medical studies at John Hopkins University she returned to China to practice and teach medicine. During her career Dr Gui published the first textbook in psychiatry in Chinese-Modern Psychiatry-and several other important monographs. In the history of the development of psychiatry in China, Professor Gui was not only first female psychiatric expert,she was also the first psychiatrist to address the problem of psychiatric and mental health issues in children.
