the core of building, which is built by man, shows the essence of human living with a reflection of the ethical principles of ages. It embodies the idea of "shelter" and "Man is an Integrated part of nature" in primitive society and in ancient China, respectively. However, in present society, large-shcale duplication of building seems a return to the primitive society for meeting people's physical needs, during which the proliferation of personalized post-modern building in a large part leads people to relativism and even nihilisml The traditional value system of China has been questioned and new ethical principles hasn't been entirely set up after a hundred years of reform as well as the collision and amalgamation between China and the West culture. Nowadays, in order to seeking different qualities sharing same structure, the idea of universal love may be an important way to realize the remolding of ethical principles on the ground of multi-dimensional views of value. As the residence of a lifetime for the majority and the vast landscape in human visual system, building perhaps should play a role in leading the development of the society and promoting social harmony. National characteristics as well as the view of currency and internationalism will be manifested on the ground of universal love as one core of architectural criticism.
