姓氏“EYRE”之认知考察——小说《简·爱》中的意象研究

摘　　要：《简·爱》作者启用"EYRE"作为主人公之姓具有深层的动因,即"EYRE"的选用是"眼"(eye)与"火"(fire)两个意象在认知上的组合要求。主要依据是"眼"与"火"两个意象在文本中存在高频、丰满的语言呈现形态,以及丰富的意象含量;这两个意象在认知驱动下可组合产生四种意象结构,分别为:契合型结构、并置型结构、浮现型结构和致使型结构;这四种不同的意象结构可创构层级性的情感空间。此深层动因的挖掘对于探讨核心意象在文本中的运作规律,尤其对于深入理解作者的创作意图及作品的思想内涵具有一定的启发意义。There is an underlying motivation for the author of Jane Eyre to use ＂Eyre＂as the surname,namely that the surname is motivated by the cognitive requirement for the image integration of ＂eye＂and ＂fire＂.The evidence lies in the fact that：firstly,these two images have highly frequent and fleshed-out linguistic representations as well as rich image content;secondly,the two images,under cognitive motivation,may derive four image structures,namely,blend structure,juxtaposition structure,emergent structure,and causation structure;and finally,these four image structures can contribute to the creation of a hierarchical sensation space.This exploration of the underlying motivation is much of a contribution to gaining an insight into the operation mechanism of core images in a novel,particularly to the exploration of a novel＇s motif and main theme.
