摘　　要：2008年北京奥运会的成功举办,使我国的体育事业发展再次掀起了高潮。中国的竞技体育、社会体育、学校体育等都获得了巨大的发展,群众的体育热情也空前的高涨。这些都向世界证明了中国是一个体育大国,然而中国要成为体育强国,重点还应看社会体育的发达程度。湖南省湘西自治州是我国相对较为落后的地区,也是湖南省内唯一一个进入"西部大开发"的地区。采用了文献资料法、问卷调查法、访谈法、数理统计法、分析综合法等方法对湖南湘西自治州的社区体育开展情况进行了详细的调查与分析,以系统全面地了解湘西地区的社会体育开展情况,并借此对我国西部其他较为落后地区的社会体育开展情况进行横向比较。The success of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games held once again our country＇s sports set off a climax.China＇s competitive sports,community sports,school sports level and so was a great improvement in people＇s sports enthusiasm unprecedented high.These are proved to the world that China is a major sport country,but China wants to become a sports power,the focus should also look at the level of development of social sports.Western Hunan Autonomous Prefecture in Hunan Province in China is relatively backward areas,but also in Hunan into the ＂West＂ the only region,so this paper Xiangxi for the survey,using the literature,questionnaire,interview and mathematical statistics method of synthesis method and other methods of Western Hunan Autonomous Prefecture of community sports were carried out a detailed investigation and analysis.Attempt to come to the Western Region Development of Social situations have a comprehensive understanding of the system,and to come to the right of other relatively backward western regions of the social situation of sports in comparison with a horizontal and understanding.
