摘　　要：20世纪80年代以来,新修地方志成果丰硕,蔚为大观。近年来对方志索引的重视,大大增加了方志文献的有效利用。正确认识和理解地方志索引的性质、类型及特点,充分把握地方志索引编制过程及技术要点,在《索引编制规则》的指导下编制出更多、更好、更高质量的方志索引是完全可能的。Since the 1980s, we have seen a great number of fruitful achievements in newly compiled local records. The emphasis on local records indexes in recent years has greatly boosted the effective utilization of local records materials. It is utterly possible to correctly recognize and understand the nature, types, and characteristics of local records indexes, to fully grasp the process and technical points of local records indexes compilation, and to produce more and better local records indexes of higher quality under the guidance of 'Indexes Compilation Rules'.
