锡恒与清末阿尔泰地区的边防建设

摘　　要：锡恒是清末首任阿尔泰办事大臣。科阿分治后,锡恒在阿尔泰地区大力开展以边防为中心的各项建设,主要包括:编练新式军队、改善武器装备、增设台站、开通电报线路、兴办屯垦等,有效地巩固了阿尔泰地区的边防。Xi Heng, as the first Imperial Minister of Altai after the administrative division between Kobdo and Altai in late Qing Dynasty, devoted himself to the frontier defense construction in the area of Altai, which mainly involved in training new army, improving the weapons and equipments, building military stations, setting up wires of telegram, developing agriculture and reclamation and so on. It played an important role in strengthening and consolidating the frontier defense in Altai region.
