The Ultrasonography Evaluation of Knee Osteoarthritis during Physical Therapy with Low Level Laser and Sonophoresis

摘　　要：The knee osteoarthritis （OA） is common diagnosis in physical therapy practice. We had used low level laser therapy （LLLT） to decrease pain and swelling. LLLT was introduced as an alternative non-invasive treatment. Objectives： To assess the effectiveness of LLLT and sonophoresis in the treatment of knee OA with ultrasonography （USG） evaluation. Material and method： The 20 patients were included in our study with follow criteria： （1） clinical examination, （2） ultrasonography of the soft tissue in the knee area, （3） X-ray picture of the knee. The patients were treated with LLL 10 days with daily dose of 24 J on the 20 trigger point of the knee and with ultrasound （US）. Results： Data base was showing after 10 treatments significant better results of clinical examination （p〈0.05） and increase of pain p〈0.05. Conclusion： Diagnostic picture must be made correctly and in accordance with diagnostic finding point of lesion. Those are trigger points by application of LLLT for significant results.
