摘　　要：美国梦是美国价值观的集中体现。它根植于早期的清教主义,发展于建国后的西进运动,幻灭于垄断资本主义大发展时期。在不同时期,美国梦受到不同的历史事件的影响,有着不同的内容和表现。本文旨在从美国历史文化入手,探究在美国梦的历史发展中,早期的清教徒、西进运动中的移民,以及后期的资本主义工业对于美国梦的影响,从而使人更深刻地了解美国梦的历史变迁。American Dream is the concentrated embodiment of the American values. It deeply rooted in the early Puritanism, developed during the Westward Expansion in 18th century and disillusioned in the monopolized period. American dream has different contents in different periods because of the influences by different historic events. This essay gives a detailed account about the influences which puritan fathers, the immigrants, and the capitalist society gave to American dream from the perspective of the American history and culture.So we can have a better understanding about the transition of American dream.
