摘　　要：依照教育活动的基本要素,从法学教育的组织与管理,法学教育项目与内容、教师与学生、图书资料与教学设施等四个方面逐一介绍美国律师协会对法学院的设置标准,并加以解释。对于高等教育而言,特别是对法学院的办学而言,在美国独特教育体制下的法学院管理模式也是独特的,以期对中国法学院的完善起到借鉴作用。As the largest voluntary professional association in the world,the American Bar Association(ABA) is responsible for the setting of academic standards for law schools.The Standards for Approval of Law Schools of the ABA are founded primarily on the fact that law schools are the gateway to the legal profession.They are designed,developed,and implemented for the purpose of advancing the basic goal of providing a sound program of legal education.In most U.S.jurisdictions,graduation from an ABA-accredited law school is expressly stated as a prerequisite towards being allowed to sit for that state's bar exam.This paper explains the ABA standards for approval of law schools from four aspects including organization and management,teaching items and contents,faculty and students,and libraries and teaching facilities.Thought the American Pattern is unique,it can provide references for law schools in Chinese universities.
