摘　　要：通过研究城市中轴线空间的历史演进,认识到城市中轴线的发展有其规律可循。其演进受社会背景和公共政策影响,首先表现为格局改变,最终反映到城市风貌特色,这种往复升级的过程形成了人类历史上辉煌的城市中轴线。成都人民南路是成都的中轴线,是有一千多年历史的人类杰作。在成都世界现代田园城市的背景下,如何在城市中轴线体现田园特质,是一个挑战,若如是,成都人民南路终将成为世界知名街道。By studying the spatial axis of the city＇s historical evolutiOn,we recognized that the development of a city＇s axis has its own rules to fOllow.Its evolution is influenced bv the social backg round and public policles,vvhich is inltlally manlfested by the change of its pattern,and ultimately reflected in featu res and cha racte ristics of the city.The process of upg rading back and forth has been forming a glorlous axis in human history.South Renmln Road,Chengdu＇s central axis,is a maste rpiece of a thousand years’history.In the modern garden city backg round of Chengdu.how to reflect the pastoral natu re of the axis is a challenge.With the problem solved,South Renmin Road will eventually become a world famous street.
