摘　　要：Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock(1899i1980)was a British film director who closely associated with the suspense genre.His films were influenced by German expressionism.He began to direct films in England and then in the United States from 1939.As one of the best known and the most popular directors of all times,he directed more then fifty feature films to his credit in six decades of his career.His innovations and vision have influenced a great number of filmmakers,producers and actors.He received the honours Oscar in 1968 and was knighted by the Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ in 1980,just few months before his death.His invention of a thriller genre gave him a nickname,the "master of suspense".However,viewers of his films were impressed by his cynical romantic relationship as well as his suspense.Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock （1899□1980） was a British film director who closely associ- ated with the suspense genre.
