摘　　要：介绍了异步传输模式（ATM）技术的原理与特点。在简要阐述ATM技术在国内外发展状况的基础上，从无线ATM、基于ATM的无源光网络、ATM与现有网络的兼容三个方面讨论并分析了ATM技术的发展趋势以及ATM研究中存在的问题，为研究ATM提供参考。This paper describes the main method and features of Asynchronous Transfer Technology(ATM), and briefly presents the development of ATM, The prospects as well as problems are discussed from three aspects:wireless ATM, APON, the combination of ATM with existing network, in order to supply Useful reference.
