摘 要:A numerical model for the prediction of transient longitudinal bed profile, which can account for armouring in case of degradation, has been developed. Using this model, both rotational and parallel degradation can be studied. The rate of sediment transport is calculated using the method proposed by Samaga for the prediction of the surface layer undergoing coarsening. The model has been verified using experimental data of Gessler, Hasan, Little and Mayer, Jaswant Singh and Garde et al. It has been applied to simulate the degradation of the river Middle Loup (USA) below Milburn Dam and the aggradation upstream of Bhakra Dam on the river Sutlej (India).
