摘  要:Roughness is measured using a new approach, whereby the relative roughness of the river bed is obtained instead of the conventional grain size distribution. The K3 roughness coefficient allows an accurate description of both spatial and temporal variations of roughness. Detailed variations of roughness may be attributed to both the grain, form and system effects of river reaches. Whereas conventional roughness analyses are limited in space and detail, the K3 roughness coefficient allows undisturbed measurement of the river bed at nearly any scale and locality available.Roughness is measured using a new approach, whereby the relative roughness of the river bed is obtained instead of the conventional grain size distribution.
