摘  要:1 Introduction Generally beryllium is considered as a bivalent element, which implies that its oxidation state is+2. However, almost all compounds of beryllium are covalent ones with partial ionic character, even those formed with the most electronegative elements F and O, e. g. BeF<sub>2</sub> and BeO. The coordination numbers of beryllium in its compounds are 2, 3 and 4. Some people consider the coordination number as covalence, but we think that they are
