摘　　要：城市精神是城市文化的核心。城市精神以城市的历史文化为摇篮,以时代精神为号角,以民族精神为基石,以地域特色为个性、以人文精神为核心。在城市发展的过程中,城市精神有四大作用:动力作用、导向作用、凝聚作用和约束作用。培育和弘扬城市精神的途径在于:加强宣传教育,营造舆论氛围;提升市民素质,奠定民众基础;推动文化建设,提供文化支撑等。City spirit is the core of city culture. It is originated in city history and culture with time spirit as the clarion. City spirit is rest on national spirit, featured by regional characteristics with humanistic spirit as the core. In the process of city development, city spirit plays four roles, namely the roles of power, direction, coherence and confinement. The ways to cultivate and develop city spirit include strengthening publicity and education, creating public opinion and atmosphere, promoting citizens＇ quality, laying a good foundation of people, promoting culture construction and providing cultural support.
