摘　　要：作为对语言符号不足的补充,非语言符号传递的交际信息是语言所不能替代的。符号是文化的载体,文化的传播依据各式各样的符号得以实现。因此,选用图形——背景理论对妈祖文化中的非语言符号进行认知研究,能够更好地发挥非语言符号在妈祖文化的传播和对外交流中的作用。As complements to verbal symbols,the communication information in nonverbal symbols cannot be replaced by verbal languages.Symbol is the carrier of culture,various of symbols make the transmission of culture possible.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the cognitive function of nonverbal symbols in mazu culture based on figure-ground theory,so as to make better use of them in both the transmission of mazu culture and cultural exchanges.
