摘　　要：作为文学批评领域重要的研究方法,二元对立现象广泛存在于文学作品当中。在《无名的裘德》中,哈代运用几对二元对立增强了小说的艺术效果。本文从结构主义语言学的相关理论出发,通过对小说中二元对立模式的分析得出以下结论:二元对立的运用成功揭示了人物与环境之间的矛盾,进而深化了主题,增强了小说的悲剧色彩。Binary oppositions exist substantially in literary works and binarism has become a very important means in literary criticism. In Jude the Obscure, Hardy employs several pairs of binary oppositions to enhance its artistic values. This thesis, starts from the principle of structural linguistics, and by analyzing the various pairs of opposing elements, arrives at the conclusion that the employment of binary oppositions successfully discloses the conflicts between the characters and the environment, uncovers the theme and intensifies the tragedy.
