摘　　要：《爱玛》是简·奥斯丁生前发表的最后一部作品,作者对世态人情进行了不少描写,当时的英国社会是一个等级差异明显却又经历着巨大变迁的社会。这是一个以财产来界定一个人的社会和经济地位的社会,作者在描写小说人物时突出了婚姻制度和生活环境对女主人公们的婚姻观念及命运的影响,揭示了当时英国妇女的地位和命运。Emma is Jane Austin＇s last work published before her death,the author described a lot about the situation of the world and human.It was a society which had striking difference between classes and it suffered tremendous changes as well.In this society,a person＇s social status and economic status of society was defined by the property he owned,the author emphasized the living environment＇s impact on the characters＇ idea of marriage and their fate,thus to revel the British women＇s status and fate.
