摘　　要：倡导与推广阅读是公共图书馆的天职。公共图书馆既是最佳的社会阅读场所和永恒的社会阅读服务机构,也是西部少数民族地区阅读文化建设的中坚力量、主要阵地、资源与设施保障。西部少数民族地区公共图书馆在阅读文化建设中具有阅读宣传与推广、提供阅读服务、开发民族文化资源、传承民族文化和开展社会教育等主要作用。It is the bounden duty for public library to advocate and spread reading.Public library is both the best social reading place,the perpetual social reading service institution,and the core force,primary position,resource and device safeguard for the development of reading culture in the west regions of minorities.Public library plays key roles of advocating and spreading reading,providing reading services,developing national culture resources,inheriting national culture and promoting social education in the development of reading culture in the west regions of minorities.
