索绪尔任意性观念的双重价值和多种诠释

摘　　要：任意性观念是索绪尔语言学的理论基石和现代语言学的重要内容,对它的理解既要以索氏原意为基础,又需考虑当代语境下的新情况。任意性观念具有双重价值和多种涵义。双重价值指任意性既是语言的重要属性,又是研究语言的基本原则。多种涵义指任意性的构件在结构上的非必然性联系,如语言符号能指与所指之间无自然关联,语言起源具有不可解释性等。Arbitrariness is one of the important concerns of contemporary linguistics as well as the fundamental principle of Saussurean Linguistics.Its interpretation should be made in accordance with both its original meaning and some new contemporary features.Arbitrariness has a bipartite value and different connotations.The bipartite value means that it is both the fundamental feature of linguistic signs and the first principle of linguistic studies.Different connotations mean the lack of necessary link between the components of any language phenomenon,i.e.the non-motivated relation between the signified and the signifier of linguistic signs,the un-analyticity of words,the un-interpretability of the origin of language,and so on.
