摘　　要：能源科学网(ESnet)是连接美国能源部及其下属所有国家实验室、相关大学和其它部分国家科研机构的多环网,旨在促进资源共享与各实验室间的协同能力。为了展现美国各个科研机构的信息化战略目标及其之间的信息化协同能力,介绍了ESnet的基本架构、功能以及最近几年的主要建设进展,体现了能源科学网在基础设施方面的高连通性和数据传输方面的高可靠性、高效性。然后将其与中国科技网(CSTnet)进行比较,指出二者之间的异同并提出对CSTnet后续建设的意见。ESnet is a polycyclic network that connects US department of energy and its subordinate national laboratories, universities and other research institutions in some countries. It is designed to promote the resources sharing and coordination among laboratories. In order to show the information strategic objectives of scientific research institution in US and synergy among them,it began with a detailed re- view of the architecture, function and main progress in recent years of ESnet. Embodies high connectivity in infrastructure and high relia- bility, efficiency in data transmission. Then it compared ESnet with CSTnet,pointing out the differences and similarities between these two schema. In the end,some suggestions are given for CSTnet＇s further construction.
