摘　　要：近代政治与宗教是现代化过程中的一对颇为复杂的关系。托克维尔从对法国与美国的比较入手,探讨了近代政治与宗教的关系,指出两者之间不只是对立的,也是可以并且应该是和谐共存的。托克维尔的探讨对西方近代政治产生了深刻影响,对中国的现代化亦有一定的借鉴意义。The relationship between politics and religion is complex in the modernization process. Tocqueville, studying the contemporary situations in France and America, points out that these two are not conflicting after each other, but rather complementary and co-existent. His discussion of this relationship is of great significance to the modernization process undertaken by China today.
