Some related physiological characters of the carbohydrate metabolism of Aegiceras corniculatum under Pb2+ stress were researched. The results showed that Aegiceras corniculatum had a strong resistant to Pb2+ stress and the carbohydrate metabolism was affected by both the duration and the concentration of Pb2+ stress. It showed that the activities of Hill reaction and the content of chlorophyll in the seedlings were increased when the Pb2+ concentration in the cultivation soils rose to 500 mg/kg.However,the factors mentioned above showed a significant decrease with a higher Pb2+ concentration as well as a longer duration of the stress.Experiments showed that chlorophyll a was more sensitive than chlorophyll b to Pb2+ stress, and the Hill reaction activity of the plants showed more sensitivity than that of chlorophyll content for the Pb2+ stress.Under the range of 500 ~ 2000 mg·kg-1 Pb2+ stress, amylase activity increased with the Pb2+ concentration. The amylase activity of the samples treated with Pb2+ for 15 days was higher than that of the samples treated for 3 days. However, the amylase activity was significantly decreased when the Pb2+ concentration reached to 3000 mg·kg-1.
