摘 要:This paper examines the literature written by returned Peace Corps volunteers. Since the inception of the Peace Corps in 1961, a new type of literature was born in the United States that was developed by Peace Corps volunteers, who wrote a wide range of materials, including letters home, short stories, memoirs, and novels, to share their rich experience of living in developing countries. By doing so, they gave to American readers views of the developing world that are different from what they have been used to: travel accounts, colonial writings and most recently media reports. The purpose of the paper is 1:o discuss the writings of Peace Corps volunteers and to identify aspects of their experiences they most frequently ~n'ite about.
