摘　　要：国际友好省州、友好城市是以地方政府为主导,以经贸、文化交流为主要内容,以民间往来为拓展的一种新的国际交流形式。中国与澳大利亚自1972年建交以来,友好省州、友好城市关系不断发展,它有力地推动了两国关系的深化。本文概述了中澳友好省州(城市)关系建立的背景与现状,论述了中澳友好省州(城市)关系建立的条件与动因,考察了中澳友好省州(城市)关系发展的历史轨迹,并探讨了中澳友好省州(城市)的关系在推动两国交流中的意义与作用以及存在的问题,强调在中澳关系中,友好省州(城市)的发展具有重要影响和特殊作用,它为中澳两国在政治、经济和文化上的交流与合作提供了一个新的平台和纽带,促进了中澳关系的健康、稳定发展。Sister state/city is a new form of international exchange led by the local government to expand non-governmental exchan- ges mainly in the economy and culture. Since China and Australia established diplomatic relations in 1972, the continuous development of sister state/cities relations between two countries helps to deepen the Sino-Anstralian relationship. This paper first expounds the con- ditions and reasons for the establishment of sister states/cities relations, then overviews the development history and the current situa- tion of the relations, and finally discusses the significance, effect and issues of the relations in promoting the communication between China and Australia. It points out that the relations offer a new platform for the exchange on politics, economy and culture, strengthe- ning the sound and stable development of Sino-Anstralian relationship.
