摘　　要：英国当代作家希斯洛普的《岛》以20世纪初希腊麻风病隔离区——斯皮纳龙格岛为背景,讲述了感染麻风病的伊莲妮、玛丽娅母女和背负麻风病家族耻辱的安娜、索菲娅母女之间爱恨交织的悲怆人生故事。文章通过对《岛》中伊莲妮、安娜、玛丽娅、索菲娅四个人物的分析和斯皮纳龙格岛上麻风病人社会的解构,揭示作者对宽广友爱、无私奉献的生命的热情歌颂。The English contemporary writer Hislop＇s novel the Island relates a miserable love-hate interwoven story of four women--Ileni, Maria, Anna and Sofia on a leper colony-the Spinalonga Island. The mother and daughter Ileni and Maria were diagnosed with leprosy. The mother and daughter Anna and Sofia were ashamed of having lepers in their family. With an analysis of the four major characters and the society of lepers on the Spinalonga Island, this article reveals the author＇s eulogy on kind, selfless and devoted life.
