摘　　要：洪范五是我国著名的图书馆学家,他开拓了中国现代图书馆事业,是高等院校图书馆工作的奠基人之一,同时也是中国早期新图书馆运动的重要活动家。洪范五曾任东南大学、清华大学、中央大学、南京大学等高校图书馆馆长,历尽艰辛使我国南北高校图书馆工作得到迅速的发展,并培养出了一大批优秀人才。Mr. Hong Fanwu was a famous library scientist of China. He developed the cause of Chinese modem library, and was one of the founders of Chinese university libraries, and also one of the important activists of Chinese early new library movement. He had been the chief librarian in the libraries of Southeast University, Tsinghua University, Central University and Nanjing University. He promoted the development of Chinese university libraries, and trained a lot of talents. He made great contributes to the cause of Chinese library.
