Access of Higher Education for Disabled Students in the Plural Society Using Social Influence and Norms

摘  要:Education that places the person at the centre is beneficial for all learners with or without special needs due to disability or any other circumstance. Education will prepare learners to live and work in a plural society. Many techniques are exerting social influence for changing others attitude or behaviors exist. Some are obvious and others are more subtle, and it is common for human scenery. But this is not the way to see that others are all equal in all parts of the country or globe. The social norms or injunctive norms are often powerful efforts on our behavior that tells what we should do in a given situation. In some instances, government generally functions through written constitution and laws, and is usually regulated by written rules and signs in many public places, such as road, institutions, etc.. In contrast, other norms are unspoken or implicit. Most of them obey such unwritten rules and it also influenced by the current and rapidly changing standards of grooming. There is a need to support coordinated policies among all sectors involved as well as to support the exchange of good practices for the enhancement of disabled students in the plural society by the course of social influence, social conformity, compliance, obedience, intense indoctrination and social norms. The whole of society needs to be involved in the educational change for the development of disabled students. Political will and determination from all parts involved is needed to promote systemic change. This requires the vision, the knowledge, the skills and the legal framework to be brought together in order to implement an inclusive education of quality with equity and excellence in mainstream settings at all levels of education. Access to higher education needs to be improved in order to increase the representation of students with disabilities and those from vulnerable groups.
