摘　　要：《舞台上的阿尔比》是近年来阿尔比学术史上难得一见的佳作。该书以阿尔比在戏剧导演上的贡献为研究旨趣,作者所罗门通过访谈、实录等方式与阿尔比本人保持密切联系长达30余年,对其独特的戏剧观念和导演才能进行了客观、公正、详细地记录和评价。就研究特色看来,该书把戏剧创作与戏剧导演相结合、作品研究与人物传记相结合、演出观摩与幕后访谈相结合、文字记录与图片展示相结合,拓展了阿尔比研究的新思路。该书对我国阿尔比戏剧研究有四点启示:增加对阿尔比戏剧的译介工作;加强阿尔比戏剧的专题研究;增加对阿尔比戏剧舞台演出的投入;四是做好阿尔比戏剧演出的资料保存以及剧评工作。Albee in Performance mainly studies Albee＇s contribution as a theater director.For over three decades,Solomon has kept a close contact with Albee,doing interviews and recordings.This book evaluates objectively,impartially,and thoroughly Albee＇s dramatic conception and his talent as a director.In doing so,it highlights four combinations,namely,the combination of drama writing and theatre director,the combination of works＇ studies and biography,the combination of performance observation and backstage interviews,and the combination of literary notes and pictorial illustrations,thus opening new lines of investigating Albee.This book has four enlightenments for Albee study in China： to promote the translation work of Albee＇s drama,to increase the monographic studies of Albee＇s drama,to encourage the stage performance of Albee＇s drama and to preserve the performance data and performance reviews.
