摘　　要：《10 1/2章世界历史》是巴恩斯的一部重要作品,对现代文明进步做了深刻的反思,但现有研究对此很少涉及。本文的研究表明《世界史》是对现代文明进步的反思,体现出强烈的生态关怀。它不仅批判了人类中心主义和唯科学主义思想,揭露了它们所造成的人与自然的关系的对立,以及所导致的严重生态灾难和威胁,而且表达了"未来在于过去"的思想,即要摆脱生态危机就要摒弃人类中心主义和科技乌托邦的幻想,立足于地球,重建人与人、人与自然的和谐关系。Julian Barnes＇s A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters questions the progressing model oF modern civilization for its anthropocentrism and scientism which cause damages to nature and environment, and even threaten the existence of the earth proper. The novel claims that ＂the future lies in the past＂, because in ＂the past＂ human beings formed a harmonious relationship with nature without obvious technology-made pol- lution.
