摘　　要：杜定友先生的公共图书馆思想是其图书馆学术思想的重要组成部分,主要包括公共公开的思想,开架外借的思想,普遍均等的思想和图书馆是社会记忆装置的思想以及图书馆是独立的教育机关的思想。借鉴和继承杜定友先生的公共图书馆思想对中国图书馆事业的健康可持续发展具有重要意义。The Du Dingyou＇s thoughts of free public library is the important component of his thought of library science. It include the thought of public and openness, the thought of open - shelf and allow the reader lending the book out of libraries, the thought of universal and equal service, the thought of that library is the memory device of society, the thought of that libraries is the independent educational institution. To learn and inherit Du Dingyou＇s thoughts of free public library is of great significances for the healthy and sustainable development of modem Chinese libraries.
