摘　　要：主要依据Tyler和Evans原则性多义网络的英语介词多义网络分析方法,本文较为详细地刻画了空间介词in的原始义与区分意义共同构成的语义网络。认为空间介词in的义项形成和扩展不是任意的,而是构成了从原始义到区分意义这样的放射性网络结构,其拓展过程具有一定的理据性。义项的形成和扩展是人类认知范畴化和概念化的结果。Using the principled polysemy approach put forward by Tyler and Evans for the analysis of English spatial prepositions,this paper made a thorough analysis on the polysemy network of the preposition in with its primary sense and distinct sense.We maintain that the formation and extension of these senses is not arbitrary but based on a set of highly motivated principles to form the semantic network.So the formation and extension of senses is the outcome of human cognitive categorization and conceptualization.
