An eight-week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the amino acid-chelated trace elements as dietary supplement to Litopenaeus vannamei(initial body weight:0.69 g) in a recirculating system. The basal diet were formulated to contain CP 40% and GE17 MJ/kg,as control group(Diet 1).Three experimental diets were formulated containing Zn,Mn,Cu either from the inorganic salt(Diet 2) or amino acid-chelate(Diet 3) or complex trace element amino acid chelate(Diet 4) with a same basal diet.Diet 2 was added with trace elements from the inorganic salt.Diets 3 and 4 contained the same amount of trace elements from amino acid-chelates at one-half level in Diet 2,respectively.The results showed that growth was significantly(P0.05) affected by trace elements supplementation.Shrimp fed the diet containing amino acid-chelate or complex trace element amino acid chelate had significantly higher SGR,PER,hemocyte counts,SOD,PO,CAT,AKP and lysozyme activity than the control group or the inorganic salt(P0.05).Results suggest that trace element amino acid chelate could become a safe and efficacious additives supplemented to the diets for L.vannamei.It can promote the growth performance of L.vannamei, and improve the non-specific immune function. Therefore,it is worthy to be popularized in production.
