In order to reveal the relationship between the secondary electron emission characteristic and the triboelectrification of solid materials, the electrostatic list regulated by some related standards or reported by the literature both at home and abroad was taken into consideration, and several solid materials located at the end of the electrostatic list,namely,polytetrafluoroethene,high-density polyethylene(HDPE),polypropylene(PP),polyvinyl chloride polymer(PVC) and A3 carbon steel, were selected to carry out triboelectrification experiments.By focusing the secondary electron emission characteristics of the solid materials, the relationship between the primary incident energy and the rubbing speed as well as the friction force during the electrostatic electrification was revealed, and the occurrence of positive surface electrostatic potential after the rubbing of solid materials with A3 carbon steel was analyzed.Experimental results indicate that the positive surface electrostatic potential results from the secondary electron emission characteristic of solid materials, which means that there exists a strong correlation between the secondary electron emission characteristic and the electrostatic electrification process of solid materials.
