[ Objective ] To investigate the impact of swimming and fondleing upon the early body weight of the neonatus. [Methods ] 102 full term neonatus were sampled at random into two groups, the research group coveting 52 of then and the contrast group coveting the rest of 50. The research group were nursed by 15 minutes daily swimming and fondleing for 10 successive days, while the contrast group were nursed by daily bathing, based on which the daily body weight of each neonatus were recorded. [Results] No statistic sense is derived in the comparison difference between the average body weight after their very birth of two groups. But statistic sense occurred in the respective comparison difference of body weight from the sixth day after their birth. Furthermore, statistic sense exists in the comparison difference between the average amounts of days within which the physiological body weights of the two groups drop to the minimum. Now, no statistic sense is derived in the comparison difference between the drop rates of their body weight of both groups. On the other hand, statistic sense exists in the comparison difference between the amounts of days for the return to their virgin body weights, [ Conclusion ] It is obvious that swimming and fondleing are a positive factor for the increase of the early body weight of neonatus, and for both the occurrence of the physiological drop and the return of their body weight in advance. However, swimming and fondleing are not an obvious factor affecting the value of physiological drop of their body weight.
