摘　　要：结合英语词源学视角研究英语词的概念义、抽象义、引申义、临时语境义,探索英语词汇的结构形态、生成构词过程以及隐喻、引申等语用的演变,从词的共时特征认知词的意义,从历时特征探索词的内涵,追溯英语词源背后的文化内涵,进而揭示英语词源流变中蕴含的文化特质。From the perspective of etymological theory,this study is aimed at studying the original concept meaning,Abstract meaning,figurative meaning and contextual meaning of English etymology in order to probe into the morphology,formation,coinage,semantic evolution of English and explore the cognitive activities of human beings such as metaphor and figurativeness,thus revealing the implication of English both synchronically and chronologically.The study helps to trace back to the cultural evolution implied in etymological expansion and further reveal cultural characteristics implied in English vocabulary.
